Summer Will Soon Be Upon Us!
I often assume that everyone knows this fact, but sometimes I'm wrong. I'm not simply a musician. I'm also a huge appreciator of arts and crafts, and am forever moved by whatever tickles my senses. A well-played cello often leads to tears. When ever I visit an art gallery, I have to keep my hands tightly clasped behind my back because my first impulse is to reach out to touch the colours.
I'm also known to often get my own hands dirty. Using whatever medium I can get my greedy little hands on – paint, glass, scrap metal, computer software, wool, fabrics, clay, pressure canners, gourmet cooking ware – nothing fails to fuel my artistic spirit.
Inspired by the beauty of summer and the bounty it brings, it’s no accident that my most creative moments occur between June and September.
What better way to celebrate the onset of summer than to sip a few lovingly hand-crafted pints of draft and indulge in a sumptuous gourmet meal accompanied by sultry music that gets your juices flowing?
Gatineau microbrewery Brasseurs du Temps, home of the creator of several specialty beers, is presenting me and my full backing band on Tuesday, June 29. It’s the perfect pairing for a hot Gatineau summer evening…
